Michael Southern

Michael Southern is a master printmaker known for his exquisitely detailed copper plate etchings, rich in atmosphere, craftsmanship, and tonal depth. A former member of Inkling Studio and exhibiting artist at Guardino Gallery (now GO Gallery), Southern earned his MFA in Printmaking from the University of Georgia and spent many years working in Portland, Oregon before relocating to rural New Zealand. Whether depicting landscapes, wildlife, or imagined worlds, his work reflects a lifelong dedication to the etching process and a keen sensitivity to the drama of light and shadow.
