David Nez
For over five decades, David Nez has journeyed through the worlds of contemporary and avant-garde art — beginning as a founding member of the influential OHO Group in 1960s Yugoslavia, soon to be the subject of a Netflix documentary, and exhibiting from New York to Venice, Los Angeles to Ljubljana.
In his series Terra Incognita, Nez maps imaginary realms: uncharted territories inspired by Renaissance cartography, alchemical manuscripts, tarot symbolism, and fragments of scientific and popular imagery. Hand-rendered in gouache, ink, collage, encaustic, and oil, these works invite the viewer into landscapes where myth and history meet — and where every detail suggests a story yet to be fully told.
The collection spans mixed media paintings on panel, intimate Birch Panel works, and large-scale wire and found-object sculptures. Each piece is an original, available exclusively through GO Gallery.
